Sweat slid down my face. My head was fuzzy. Was I dreaming? If I was, this dream hurt like a bitch.

Where this book shines is really that it keeps you engaged: you are never allowed to catch your breath before the next problem arises. Here is my problem: as the books progress, Jessica seems to grow stronger and stronger to the point where she is nearly invincible.
Every scenario has an out, everything has an increasingly easy-feeling answer. Even Marcy, the sidekick witch, appears to be growing in power to the point where she can handle everything. Nothing is exciting anymore. The anxiety, the tension, the fear The best part about urban fantasy, to me, is when you think a character is WAY over their head and they pull a miracle at the last minute. It felt almost cartoonish, and not in a good way. Also, the plots are becoming more and more convoluted.
The world building is starting to feel sloppy, which is disappointing. Also, I have to say, this author does NOT write love scenes well. She should stick to completely fade-to-black because her sex scenes are super awkward. There is still some good stuff there, but I think this might be the end of the road for me and this series. Goodbye, Jessica McClain.

I inhaled her debut book like my life depended on it. I enjoyed the premise behind this book. Her biggest dream and nightmare have come true. I enjoyed the learn-as-you-go way that this story unfolds. She not only put a new spin on the genre but actually reinvented it; from the Cain legend, to the lycan twist to the inner workings of the pack. Each new discovery is better than the last. Full Blooded is absolutely overflowing with werewolf excellence; every page reveals something new and interesting.
